  • Rehearsal at Jeongsimhwa International Cultural Center in Daejeon, South Korea.
  • Principal Trumpet Eric Robins (L) and trumpet player Jimmy Geiger enjoy some chicken galbi on their day off.
  • Orchestra members celebrating Principal Trumpet Eric Robins' birthday in Seoul.
  • L-R: Oboist Leen de Blauwe, pipa player Miao-Tzu Chiu, and violist Paulina Cha try their hands at traditional Korean crafts at Incheon International Airport.
  • The dexterous fingers of our pipa player are perfect for the delicate work.
  • Principal Bassoon Aleksander Velichko (L) and bass trombonist Pavlo Baishev pose with Koreans wearing the traditional attire of the monarchs.
  • Back in America, trumpet player Vladimir Zemtsov and Principal Clarinet Yevgeniy Reznik behold the splendor of Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium... from backstage.
  • Timpanist Brian Marple spiffing up before the Carnegie concert.
  • Violinist Hoffmann Zhu reviews a few passages.
  • Cellist Yu-chien Yuan relaxed and looking forward to the concert.
  • Horn player Andrei Bekhterev's pre-show power up.
  • And he's good to go!
  • The trumpet section (L-R): Alexander Antonov, Vladimir Zemtsov, Eric Robins (principal), and Jimmy Geiger.
  • After a successful concert at Carnegie, we headed to the Music Center at Strathmore in North Bethesda, Maryland.
  • The trombone section practicing together before rehearsal. L-R: Alistair Crawford (principal), Ivan Agarkov, and Pavlo Baishev (bass trombonist).
  • Next we returned for the sixth consecutive year to Boston Symphony Hall, which, with its beautiful architecture and excellent acoustics, is one of our orchestra members' favorite venues.
  • The grandeur of Boston Symphony Hall captured during rehearsal with soprano Haolan Geng.
  • Conductor Milen Nachev fine-tuning a piece.
  • Our second-to-last stop: the magnificent Kennedy Center Concert Hall in Washington, D.C. Note the seven Hadeland crystal chandeliers—a gift from Norway.
  • And at last, Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra 2018 at its final destination: Chicago Symphony Center.
  • Pipa players Yuru Chen (L) and Yu Liang (R).
  • Tuba player Geneveive Blesch and oboist Leen de Blauwe ready for the final concert.
