Shen Yun Visits Five North American Cities and Sunny Australia (Preview)

    1. Outside the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center, dancers Tim Lin, Felix Sun and Danny Li (L to R). All 14 performances were sold-out this year and we can't wait to return next year! (Photo by Dancer Jack Han)
    2. Dancer Jiaxin Song spins in the air in Mobile, Alabama. Shen Yun North America Company visited the city on Jan. 9. (Photo by Dancer Michelle)
    3. Meanwhile, the Shen Yun World Company visited Fort Worth, Texas for three sold-out shows. The Bass Performance Hall, modeled after classic European opera houses, has two beautiful 48-foot-tall sculpted angels that decorate the façade. (Photo by Cellist Danielle Wang)
    4. Up north in chilly Montreal, Canada, dancer Ashley Wei poses in front of a snowed in car. (Photo by Principal Dancer Kaidi Wu)
    5. Back in Toronto, dancer Ellie Rao stretches in the practice room. She makes balancing this pose look easy, but we're certain it's not. (Photo by Percussionist Tiffany Yu)
    6. In order to do those 180 degree (or more) jumps in the air, the dancers stretch well beyond that before going on stage! Dancer Justina Wang uses a piano bench. (Photo by Percussionist Tiffany Yu)
    7. Principal dancer Evangelina Zhu warms up by folding herself in half. (Photo by Percussionist Tiffany Yu)
    8. The Shen Yun Orchestra combines both Chinese and Western instruments seamlessly. Pictured here is the Chinese instrument called the pipa (top left) along with its Western friends the viola and cello. Yuru Chen, Rachel Chen, and Yuchien Yuan (top left then clockwise) are excited to be at the Four Seasons Centre, in Toronto. (Photo by Percussionist Tiffany Yu)
    9. Yuru Chen takes advantage of the natural light to practice. The pipa has only four strings but is able to create a variety of sounds. Do you think it looks a bit like a guitar? One of Shen Yun's pipa players wants to tell you a bit more about the pipa. 10. Shen Yun International Company is currently visiting Australia. Projectionnist Annie Li enjoys a view of the Gold Coast's famed inland canals and waterways from her hotel suite.
