Hi Jade, I've been working professionally with horses for 40 years, in pretty much all facets of schooling horse and rider. In reference to Ann's comment about Baroque horses they are very old breeds, they are a group called Iberian horses for the most part. Arabian horses are a breed that is pretty much a foundational ancestor of almost if not all the different breeds of horses in the world today. Thank you for taking the time to write this article, I've sent it out to clients and on my Facebook page as well. Mentioning General Patton rescuing the Lippizaner's in Ann's comment, my grandfather was one of his Colonels and helped with the rescue. All the best with Shen Yun, it's a magical and wonderful..unique show.

a very important time upon the earth ...horses needing our support as well as all original life beings! I am available for supporting Shen Yu as an native american with many qualities to be of usefulness... hopefully will be ustilyzed and have an opportunity to view rehearsals or provide support for performances. Are you listed as not for profit? what dietary restrictions if any for the company?

Thanks for the wonderful article about famous Chinese horses in celebration of the Year of the Horse. The Ferghana horses depicted in Tang Dynasty statues and paintings have always reminded me of the Baroque appearing Spanish breeds Andalusian and Lipizzaner and the Portuguese Lusitano. Stallions were highly trained for use on the battlefields of Europe in. The classical training of cavalry horses evolved into the modern equestrian art of dressage. The best surviving example of western classical horsemanship of the High School (that began with Xenophon of the ancient Greeks) are the white dancing Lipizzaner stallions of the Spanish Riding School in Vienna. There is a wonderful story about how the US General Patton saving them from the Nazis during the Second World War. My white mare, Itxaro is half Andalusian. She has always wanted to grow wings and have ribbons braided into her mane. Perhaps Shen Yen may have a flying horse audition one day ;-). Thanks again Jade! Come ride again some day…..
